SAG Awards 2013 - Nominations Announced
Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Kidman lead the list of nominees for the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards. The annual ceremony - known most commonly as the SAG Awards - is one of most highly-respected award presentations in the film calendar, and often seen as a strong indicator of the year's Oscar nominations.
Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated in the Best Actress category for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, alongside fellow nominees Marion Cotillard, Jessica Chastain, Helen Mirren and Naomi Watts. Nicole Kidman has landed two nods: for Best Supporting Actress - thanks to her part in The Paperboy - and for Best Actress in a Miniseries, for Hemingway & Gellhorn. Joining Kidman in the Best Supporting Actress category are Anne Hathaway, Sally Field, Helen Hunt and Maggie Smith; while Julianne Moore, Charlotte Rampling, Sigourney Weaver and Alfre Woodard have also been nominated the Best Actress in a Miniseries prize.
Other notable names recognised for their acting achievements this year include Claire Danes, who's up for Best Actress in a television drama for Homeland- opposite Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery and The Good Wife's Julianna Margulies. Hugh Jackman, Daniel Day Lewis and Bradley Cooper are among the Best Actor nominees, while Javier Bardem has been given a Best Supporting Actor nod for his villainous turn in Skyfall. The winners will be announced during the ceremony on January 27, 2013.
