"In Your Face” offers a provocative inside look at some of today’s most elusive and exclusive subjects through the lens of renowned fashion and portrait photographer and Vogue and Vanity Fair contributor Mario Testino. Known for the elegance, beauty, style, irreverence, and contradiction of his images, Testino gives us a career retrospective arranged in compelling visual stories. These images capture the interplay of mass media, celebrity, and glamour, and offer a new understanding of his influence and aesthetic contributions to fashion and photography.

This exhibition, his first in the US, represents the brilliant range and quality of Testino’s thirty-year career and includes striking, exquisitely styled images of international superstars such as models Kate Moss, Stephanie Seymour, and Gisele Bündchen, actors Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, and Gwyneth Paltrow, musicians Mick Jagger, Madonna, and Lady Gaga, and soccer player David Beckham. “In Your Face” recreates the photographer’s world and his people—formal portraits juxtaposed with private party snapshots, nudes with fashion, black and white with color, and interiors with exterior settings—making visitors feel as though they had stepped into the pages of one of today’s most entertaining and spectacular fashion magazines.

GLAMOROUS, beautiful yet troubled, Marilyn Monroe remains Hollywood's most famous star - known as much for her feminine curves and undeniable sex appeal as her screen presence.
Marilyn is absolutly our best BLOND AMBITION FILE .
The classic example of a woman who knows what Hollywood wants: the platinum blonde hair, red lipstick and 'black eyeliner are the hallmarks of his style.
When was a young model, Emmeline Snively, owner of the Blue Book Agency, said that the blonde would have had more gigs, why photographers would be able to work with the light to change expression. The idol of Marilyn was the actress Jean Harlow and this fueled his desire for a platinum blonde color almost perfect and always in place.

Born in Los Angeles in 1926 as Norma Jeanne Mortenson, Monroe spent most of her childhood in foster care before launching a career in modelling. It wasn't long before she caught the eye of 20th Century Fox executive Ben Lyon, and the rest is cinematic history.
She generated scandals, marriages, divorces. More gossip, in exchange for fame and inner solitude. She sung to a President, wooed some of Hollywood's most eligible men (Arthur Miller and Joe Di Maggio), inspired everyone from Andy Warhol to Madonna and wore some world's most iconic dresses - Monroe standing on a subway grate, with her white halter-neck dress billowing in the wind, has become one of cinema's most enduring images.
Yet Monroe struggled to find happiness and battled with long-term mental illness.
His inner turmoil and the constant search for love led her into a downward spiral from which he can not come out. On August 5 1962, she was found dead in her LA home following a drug overdose.
She may have been perceived by many as a ditzy blonde, but shallow and one dimensional she certainly wasn't.
"In Hollywood a girl's virtue is much less important than her hairdo," she once said.
"You're judged by how you look, not by what you are. Hollywood's a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss, and 50 cents for your soul. I know because I turned down the first offer and held out for the 50."
With the hope that today, 50 years after his death, he found the peace he was looking for, we will dedicate this post with all our love for the best blond ambition woman become an ICON.

So yes a million peeps have done Madonna stories and will continue to do , but I think this one is particularly nice because Sky actually looks a bit like Madonna and because it’s Mario Testino. Andrew Richardson did a really nice job with the styling and it’s not too junked up or OTT. And I never understood Sky until last fashion month season when I ended up in a crew with her at the Mugler Afterparty. She is extremely gorgeous, un-pretentious and funny, three things I was not expecting necessarily. So now I get why people are obsessed with her and why she has become a fashion darling.

Yesterday, in a dramatic, twelve-and-a-half-hour hair coloring marathon at New York’s Marie Robinson Salon, Erika Bearman, known to the masses as OscarPRGirl, went from deepest, sleekest brunette to palest, pearliest blonde.
If you follow Bearman on Twitter, where she wittily documents the goings-on within Oscar de la Renta’s design atelier, you know that even in the midst of zillions (zillions) of social media responses to the proposition of such a radical change, only one opinion really matters: Oscar’s.
A few days ago, when she told de la Renta of her plans, he looked at her intensely and said, “I am deeply skeptical,” recalls Bearman. Of course, he had a big smile on his face. Oscar’s final word: “Well, blondes do have more fun.”To make sure she wouldn’t regret her decision, and to ensure that the shade would flatter her skin tone, Bearman had already slipped into Ricky’s near her office the week prior to try on a range of blonde wigs (a fail-safe move all colorists recommend to clients making a major change).
Which brings us to Robinson’s Flatiron District space, yesterday morning, 8:30 a.m. Before leaning back into the sink, Bearman snaps her last picture as a brunette, sending it out to her 150,000 Twitter followers. As Robinson spreads blue bleach over the first chunk of hair, a stream of comments flows into the feed on Bearman’s phone:
“Noooo!!!” wails one follower.
“Dye your hair green and you would still look très gorg,” encourages another.
“Erika—this is very, very controversial,” chastises yet another.
And then: “The only important thing about today is @OscarPRGirl’s hair. #patientlywaitingtoseeit”
The commentary continues as strips of cotton are laid between bleach-slick curtains of brown hair. Plastic wrap keeps the layers separated, and slowly the color beneath the plastic starts to turn. Then it’s time to rinse and repeat. The hours are ticking by as Robinson begins another round of stripping the color, this time using a thick white paste with foils. Bearman has craved platinum ever since she saw Madonna’s Truth or Dare in the mid-nineties at age thirteen. In the film, Madonna’s hair is ice-blonde, her brows are black as night, and for breakfast she eats white sourdough toast with black tea. “I had that for breakfast for about ten years, I was so obsessed,” Bearman recalls.
Why did she wait so long? “I really listened to everyone else who said I would regret it, but then I decided it was really my choice—you only live once.” Or, as they say in the Twitterverse: #YOLO.Between the second and third processes, as her hair begins to shift from brassy yellow to pale lemon, Bearman begins to get excited about the fashion changes she can make with her new look. Specifically, she’s been saving a black—what else—Oscar dress that’s been hanging in her closet for the past few weeks. “With my dark hair it was all just too much black,” she reflects. “Now I’m psyched about it.” While flipping through inspiration images of blonde bombshells on her Pinterest (models Abbey Lee Kershaw and Lara Stone, Angelina Jolie circa Gone in Sixty Seconds), she and Robinson discuss styling. Of wearing her hair tousled and up, Robinson says, “Just having those little pieces coming out, that will be the sexiest.”
Robinson’s tips for maintaining Bearman’s look and protecting her hair are all about what notto do. She recommends that she use only clear or white shampoos and conditioners, and to avoid yellow oils like argan oil. Products that contain chamomile, which can change the shade of blonde, are a definite no-no. To battle potential brittleness, Robinson sends her home with ColoristCure, a deep treatment with vitamins and essential oils that promises to protect the color while conditioning the hair.
By dinnertime, Bearman is radiant. Robinson applies a toner that brings her hair to its final color, which she aptly describes as “beigey-creamy.” Stylist Kelly Sayers steps in to snip off the ends, which need a fresh trim to optimize Bearman’s hair’s health after hours soaking in chemicals. “I already forgot what I look like as a brunette!” she says. It’s time for the final reveal, and in the spirit of Oscar, Bearman calls in a delivery of champagne. He was right, blondes do have more fun.

Gaultier fetes 80s icons in Paris
From Madonna to Michael Jackson, Grace Jones to Sade: Jean-Paul Gaultier feted the pop and style icons of the 1980s with a rebelliously joyful collection for next spring.
"Just because there's an economic crisis, doesn't mean we all have to act all miserable, and show depressing clothes," the designer joked with reporters after the show, midway through Paris Fashion Week.
Stiletto-heeled dancers shimmied around on a decor of scaffolding, mirrored balls hanging from the ceiling, to one 1980s hit after another, as the models stepped out -- all cast as lookalikes of one or other pop icon.
"Madonna was the post-feminist, what came after the bra-burning years. She said 'Yes, I am going to dress sexy, but I am the one deciding to do it'."
A whole series of "Madonnas" walked out, first in a dominatrix cage-dress, then evolving towards the lingerie-inspired look of the pop diva's "Like a Virgin" era.

Molto prima degli anni Gaga, una signorina italo-americana si agitava con grinta e trasgressiva fisicità sulla scena musicale, provocava il mondo con i suoi messaggi azzardati, chewing gum in bocca e corsetti bondage. Come a dire: sentirete parlare di me.
Auguri Signorina Ciccone.
