Marco Formisano, a Cucchi 2010 bitume, cloruro ferrico, resina, olio su carta 60x30 cm

A decisive and staff line characterize the works of Formisano: the representation of his life and the personal relationships is reflected into works-looking material, visceral, shapeless and distorted appearance of human faces.

The gestures, signs and lines express the profound character and the pathos of their origin. In his drawings the artist avoids the rhetorical narrative, search  elusive rhythms and balances that strengthen their difficult meet it. His work is a continuous reasoning on time and on mental processes.

Drawing, for him, is write down the skin. It's an act of self-injury and it's a cathartic gesture and evolutionary track of the most direct correspondence between two separate bodies. In the drawings Formisano affects the sheet like to hurt him intentionally, to dig and search for the maximum depth without chopping off the surface.
The personal exhibition presents a selection of works created by the young artist between 2009 and 2012.
