JUERGEN TELLER's provocative and exposing work will become the subject of a new exhibition held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, opening next week on January 23.
The showcase will feature some of the influential artist's most recent bodies of work, including Irene im Wald and Keys to the House, displayed alongside iconic portraits of Kate Moss and Vivienne Westwood, plus many of his renowned advertising campaigns for Marc Jacobs - and we have a preview to share with you.
"It's not a retrospective, it's a new show," Teller told us. "I've known Gregor Muir, the director of the ICA, since the early Nineties. The ICA has been important to me, since I moved to London in 1986, especially the art house cinema. In putting together this new show, I have thought about my work, the space of the gallery, the ICA itself and London. It's a combination of all these things."
Teller is responsible for some of the most creative and challenging fashion advertising campaigns in the last 20 years, working with designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Vivienne Westwood. It is perhaps his long-term collaboration with Marc Jacobs, however, that has offered some of his most outlandish results. In 2003, Teller himself posed naked for the designer, alongside actress Charlotte Rampling, while for the spring 2008 campaign, the pair famously told Victoria Beckham, "you're a product", before shooting her in a giant Marc Jacobs shopping bag.
"Marc trusts me entirely and that gives me immense strength and support to freely do what I feel is right," he explained to us. "With the Victoria Beckham campaign, there was a long monthly discussion with Marc, Victoria and myself. Victoria agreed to our concept, I flew to LA and executed the idea."
One of the resulting images is featured in the exhibition, which moves as seamlessly from art to advertising as his illustrious career has. Other highlights include several candid images of Kate Moss; in bed at the Ritz after her 25th birthday and behaving like a true rock star in Ronnie Wood's recording studio.
"She is a free spirit, she enjoys being photographed," he says of the supermodel. "We are both open-minded and enjoy each other's company. I let her be her; I have ideas; she tries things out; we play around - we have fun taking photographs."

"In Your Face” offers a provocative inside look at some of today’s most elusive and exclusive subjects through the lens of renowned fashion and portrait photographer and Vogue and Vanity Fair contributor Mario Testino. Last night, a glittering crowd of the biggest names in fashion and music headed to 50 St James for a glamorous party hosted by Marc Jacobs to celebrate the launch of The Kate Moss Book - a photographic retrospective curated by the supermodel herself. Elite guests included Liberty Ross, Florence Welch, Stella McCartney, Alison Mosshart, Boy George, Noel Gallagher, Cara Delevingne, Virginia Bates and Edie Campbell.
Arriving in a sweeping gold dress, Moss - who had greeted fans earlier in the day for a book signing at Marc Jacobs' Mayfair book shop, Book Marc - let her hair down dancing with husband Jamie Hince. Florence Welch sidelined her usual diaphanous look, opting for a graphic body-skimming Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2013 dress, while Stella McCartney wore a paisley jump suit of her own design and chatted to Jonathan Saunders and Ricardo Tisci.

It seems Rihanna is getting back to her “S&M” roots. In an upcoming spread for V magazine by photographer Mario Testino, the “Diamonds” siren heats things up with model Kate Moss. The pair pose in several highly sexual shots including Kate sitting on the pop star’s lap and even pic of RiRi holding a riding crop. Kim Gavin, the Artistic Director of the Olympic Closing Ceremony, brought together Britain’s biggest international stars and emerging talent to perform in a Ceremony that provided the soundtrack for the whole world to celebrate the achievements of the world’s greatest athletes during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Ceremony at the London 2012 Olympic Stadium paid tribute to UK music, fashion and culture, capturing the spirit that has inspired so much global creativity over the past 50 years.

Eric Idle led a singalong of ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’, from the film Monty Python’s Life of Brian, Kaiser Chiefs covered The Who’s ‘Pinball Wizard’ and The Who led a triumphant, closing rendition of ‘My Generation’.

Artistic Director Kim Gavin said: ‘I was lucky because Seb Coe basically just asked me to put on a party, a celebration of London and the UK. To me the sport was always the main event, and I wanted to create a great after show party for the athletes, the volunteers, the spectators and people watching around the world. My approach, just like any party, was to start with the music. We wanted the Ceremony to reflect on UK music and how good and global British music is.’
Gavin led the spectacular show with a team of talented creatives including Music Director David Arnold and Designer Es Devlin. A volunteer cast of 3,500 rehearsed on average for 60 hours each in a total of 135 rehearsals during evenings and weekends at two east London rehearsal sites. Some 350 child volunteers were drawn from 10 schools in the six east London Host Boroughs.

It is planned for November, but is already booming: a retrospective on the career of Kate Moss through the last two decades is preparing to be one of the most anticipated books of the year.
"The Kate Moss Book" includes photographs by Hedi Slimane, Juergen Teller, Terry Richardson, Corinne Day, Mario Testino, Karl Lagerfeld, with the aim of showing the evolution from normal girl to icon.
The thing that intrigues most though are the two editors: Jess Hallett, maid of honor marriage with Jamie Hince, and Jefferson Hack, head of Dazed and Another Man Hack, the former top model with whom she had her daughter Lila Grace , eleven years old and already a model, has been at the side of Moss in the late 90's and early 2000.
